Quickfire Q&A with Nick Green!
It’s time for another Quickfire Q&A, and this time we’re meeting our wonderful Commercial Director, Nick!
Nick’s been a key driving force behind some of our biggest accounts and is now guiding us through our ESG journey as we head towards our future as a Net Zero business!
Grab a brew and take five as we learn a little bit more about Nick…
Hi Nick! For those who don’t know you, can you tell them a little bit about what you do here at A.D.?
Well, I’ve been with the company for over 12 years, so it’s safe to say I love what I do!
Generally, I support all teams across the business, from sales and project development to studio and finance. Whether I’m sharing best-practice knowledge or working with supply partners to deliver the best service possible for our clients, I like to get stuck into the details.
I love working with our team, it’s a supportive environment, and there’s genuine camaraderie; nothing can beat that.
What energises me the most is the opportunity to work with talented Colleagues and wonderful client partners. We get to work on inspiring and innovative projects, and it’s great that we have loyal customers at some huge global brands who trust us daily to make a difference and enhance their reputation with the products we supply.
What was your first job?
After my uphill paper round, I worked afternoons and weekends with a wonderful Italian family on the local market. Pino and Antonio took me under their wing from the watchful eye of Luigi – who worked at the shop well past the age of retirement!
It taught me everything about how hard work, values, loyalty and the support of family can drive you to wherever you wish to go in life. I’m thankful for that.
What led you to your career?
Well, there wasn’t a column for our industry in the jobs section of the newspaper! So, my introduction to the industry happened by chance.
My breakthrough role was as an administrator for a company that specialised in importing branded USB sticks and electronics in Manchester. It was at a time when 32mb used to cost around £30, so many years ago!
However, each and every day I have had support from experienced colleagues, customers and suppliers – past and present – who have helped guide me on my way.
If you could have a dream job other than working at A.D., what would it be?
Footballer? Any lads dream! But, in the end, I dedicated my life to branded products instead… a much happier and fulfilling role haha!
What’s your guilty pleasure TV?
I very rarely watch TV, other than Princess Sophia or Bluey for an hour with Ava [my daughter] on Saturday mornings.

Best TV?

Best band?
Oasis or Stone Roses? It’s a tough call, so I’ll say top two!
Best gig?
I saw The Courteeners in a small venue in Barcelona. There were only around 250 people in the venue, so it was a pretty intimate gig and the atmosphere was incredible.

If you could have a superpower for one day, what would it be?
It would be the ability to time travel. I’d love to experience what it was like to live in different centuries and see what it was really like compared to the things we’ve read or heard about.
And, who also wouldn’t like to know what our futures hold!?
If I were invisible, I would…
Probably freak people out! Moving things to play tricks on them, that kind of thing!
Thanks Nick! We’re glad we didn’t buy you that invisibility cloak for Christmas!
