Elliott’s China Trip

Back in April, Elliott had the opportunity to travel to Hong Kong and attend the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair for the second time. Having visited previously, it was interesting to return and see how the industry has evolved, while also gaining fresh insight into the latest products, trends, and innovations shaping the promotional merchandise market.

“The fair was a fantastic opportunity to meet with both existing suppliers and potential new partners. While video calls and emails are invaluable, there’s still no substitute for sitting down face-to-face, discussing ideas, and building stronger relationships. These conversations gave me a better understanding of upcoming product developments and how suppliers are adapting to meet changing customer demands” – Elliott

One of the biggest takeaways from the event was the continued focus on sustainability. Suppliers were showcasing products made from recycled materials, reusable alternatives to single-use items, and more environmentally conscious packaging solutions. It’s encouraging to see how far the industry has come in making sustainable options more accessible without compromising on quality or design.

“I was also impressed by the number of premium and practical products on display. From innovative tech accessories to high-quality drinkware and lifestyle items, the trend towards merchandise that offers genuine long term value was clear to see. It’s always exciting to discover products that not only look great but will also be genuinely useful to the end user” – Elliott

Outside of the exhibition halls, it was great to experience the energy of Hong Kong once again. Returning for a second visit allowed Elliott to appreciate the city from a different perspective, and it reinforced its importance as a global trading hub at the heart of so much of our industry’s supply chain.

“Overall, it was a hugely worthwhile trip. I returned with fresh ideas, stronger supplier relationships, and plenty of inspiration that I’m looking forward to sharing with customers throughout the year” – Elliott

Elliott has shared his new factory and sourcing contacts based in the Far East with everyone on his return to the office, which will benefit not only the whole team, but all our customers. These new products will strengthen our range of products, particularly on the bespoke side if you have the time for Far East production and shipping. The cost savings can be immense, compared to off-the-shelf products, plus the branding opportunities can often exceed what is possible on stock products.

Looking for something different or bespoke? Make your budget go further with a Far East sourced product. Speak with the team to discuss your next campaign.
