A.D.

Quickfire Q&A with Emma!

It’s time for another Quickfire Q&A, and this time we’re meeting our talented Finance Manager – Emma Potts!

Emma joined A.D. in 2024 and is doing a wonderful job in helping us manage cashflow and keep the business moving!

You know what to do, grab a brew, take five and meet Emma!

Hi Emma! For those who don’t know you, can you tell them a little bit about what you do here at A.D.?

I am the Finance Manager here at A.D., so I look after the company’s finances, monitor cashflow, and ensure we have the resources to reach our goals while working closely with the team to make smart financial decisions.

What was your first job?

I was a customer service assistant at Tesco.

What energises you at work?

Coffee—lots of coffee! But seriously, I love balancing everything and turning a messy spreadsheet into something that not only makes sense but also looks beautiful.

And, I have to say the team is great and everyone is lovely, helpful, and friendly. I really enjoy coming into the office each day.

What led you to your career?

I was always drawn to numbers and solving puzzles so a career in finance felt like a natural fit.

If you could have a dream job other than working at A.D., what would it be?

I’d live on a farm and provide kennels and a dog-walking service. Dogs just make me happy, and who wouldn’t want to spend every day surrounded by them?

What’s your guilty pleasure TV?

Married at First Sight Australia – I don’t know why but I absolutely love it!

Best TV?

I enjoy a really good drama – even better if it is based on a true story.

Top book recommendations?

Anything by James Patterson and a trilogy that has always stuck with me was The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.

Best band?

I listen to all kinds of music and don’t have a best-of list, but some that are high on the list are Courteeners, James, Stereophonics, Stone Roses, and Lumineers. And who doesn’t love a bit of ABBA and Queen?

Top 3 acts you’d love to see live

I would have loved to have seen Queen, and the Stone Roses live.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Cheese! Who could live without cheese?

Best holiday destination?

Somewhere where it’s uncrowded, there’s lots of sun, a good beach and lots of good food. Our next holiday destination is Sri Lanka, which is very exciting!

If you won 10 million pounds what would you do?

I’d take some time out and travel around the world with my family, then I’d buy a farm, grow my own veg and surround myself with dogs. I’m very easily pleased!

If you could have a superpower for one day, what would it be?

Time travel, I’d go back in time and spend the full day with my mum.

If I were invisible I would…

I play tricks on my kids. They are all grown up now, so I could get my own back on them a little bit.

Thanks Emma! See you at lunchtime for a cheeseboard!
