Quickfire Q&A with Mark!
It’s time for another Quickfire Q&A, and this time we’re meeting our Project Executive, Mark!
Mark joined us on an apprenticeship 5 years ago! Now a permanent member of our team, Mark does an incredible job of supporting our clients and generally being awesome around the office.
A true blue through and through, it’s time to grab a brew and meet Mark…
Hi Mark! For those who don’t know you, can you tell them a little bit about what you do here at A.D.?
I’m the Project Executive here at A.D., so I help the team provide the best service to our clients. This could involve supporting with quotes, helping find appropriate products, or processing orders when they come through.
I also assist with other administrative duties, so I am involved in many office activities.
The thing I love most about my job is seeing results and knowing we’ve done a great job for our clients.
I’m also proud of how my career has developed here over the last five years. I also love to see how other people progress when they’ve joined through an apprenticeship like I did. It’s a supportive team and we like to see each other succeed.
What was your first job?
Well, my first job was a paper round, so not sure if that counts. I guess my first ‘proper job’, was as a shop assistant at Infinities in Altrincham. It’s funny to look back and see how some of the skills gained then such as customer service, are skills I use today.
What led you to your career?
I was looking for an apprenticeship after school and the agency I was with offered me an interview with A.D.
After my interview here, I really liked the feel of the company (and they liked me, I guess)!
Five years later I have a full-time role, I am really grateful and enjoying it even more now!
If you could have a dream job other than working at A.D., what would it be?
I would say a job which could include football or boxing, as they are my two favourite sports.
Maybe a sports journalist as I could give my opinion on the two. I do think it would be cool to have my own alcohol brand, too, and to sell that.
What’s your guilty pleasure TV?
Love Island is not as bad as people make it out to be! It’s one of those shows where you don’t have to think too hard or focus on what’s happening when watching; you can just sit there and relax.
Best movie?
Training Day and Scarface are my favourites. My dad introduced me to both movies, so I enjoy watching them from time to time.
Best TV?
I do watch a lot of series. Love/Hate, Suits, Power, Designated Survivor, Friends and Benidorm are my all-time favourites.
Best band?
I don’t listen to a lot of bands, but my favourite would be Oasis.
I’ve had a season ticket at Man City since I was 6, so you are naturally introduced to Oasis, and you always hear their songs at matches or pubs.
Top 3 events you’d love to see live
A World Cup Final (ideally involving England), a UFC event and an NBA (basketball) game in America.
I just think it’d be cool to see the different cultures in America.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Crisps, it is definitely my weak spot when I am training at the gym or sticking to eating clean.
I just really crave crisps and it doesn’t help how the house is always full of them!
Best holiday destination?
Tenerife, you get a good balance of relaxing, as well as nightlife. The weather is also really good.
If you won 10 million pounds, what would you do?
Buy a few different houses. One in Manchester as I would never want to move away, one in a hot country like Spain or Tenerife, so you can easily get on a plane and can get away whenever you like.
I would like to tour America too and visit the places like LA, Miami, New York, and Las Vegas. It’d be cool to go places like Brazil too, I have always wanted to go there since I was young.
I would also buy a few nice cars!
Top dinner party guests and why?
I’m a huge sports fan, so to be honest, I’d love to meet any sporting hero. But I think my top two would be Sergio Aguero because he won Man City our first-ever league title and he’s my favourite player, and Muhammed Ali, as he was more than just a boxer.
If you could have a superpower for one day, what would it be?
I think shapeshifting, so I could turn into any animal and transition back to human form.
So, if I was nosy or curious about something, I could become a fly on the wall. If I was being attacked, I could just turn into a massive bear and defend myself. Or I could turn into a shark and swim to other countries.
If I were invisible, I would…
I would just get into all events for free. You could literally go wherever you want. I’d fly to a UFC event and sit cage-side watching the fights all for free.
I wouldn’t need to spend £800 on a City season ticket, too, as I could just sneak in!
What would the title to your autobiography be?
‘Not in my lifetime’. Ask the red side of the office what that means or just look it up for yourselves, look at how the tables have turned.
Tell us a fun fact that people may not know about you…
I hate onions, I get told all the time they are the base of all foods but my motto is stay away from them at all costs.
Thanks Mark! We’ll bring you a multipack of cheese and onion if you’re interested?
